Mado Michio's poems, though having various aspects, are always led into a wish for the remoteness and the closeness to the object. This core of his poems has come from the cosmology of longing for something eternal and limitless and loving the things other than human beings, because every existence of the earth is so limited. This cosmology, enabling him to make a unique deformation of the expressions of the imagery, has brought a revolutional change on the poetry for children which used to be based on the sketches from the nature. I think it was Mado Michio who contributed to let the poetry for children emerge from the conventionalism and led it into the modern poetry.
