An 88 year-old female visited the Dermatology Clinic, Shimabara Hospital, Nagasaki, for ulcerative lesions on her right forearm and elbow. Histological examination revealed foreign-body granuloma with round fungus cells in them and Sporothrix schenckii was isolated. Lesions were treated once a day with medical heating sheet “Erhitzen”, which kept the topical temperature at 45°C for 3 hours. After one week ulcers began to regress and completely healed within 50 days.
