We reported the case of a 72-year-old man with erythroderma-like psoriasis provoked by group D streptococcal pyothorax. We first treated him for pyothorax using antibiotics and thoracic drainage without treatment for psoriasis. Then, as the pyothorax improved, the scaled erythema over his entire body also cleared. Thereafter, psoriasis vulgaris lesions reappeared on his elbow joints. We discussed the role of infection in the enhancement or development of psoriasis in this case.
