Abstract

Two cases of cutaneous malignant hemangioendothelioma which occurred following radiotherapy at the site of the buttock and appeared idiopathically on the scalp are reported. Case 1: 78-year-old female developed erythema and ulcers 25 years after in radiation for of malignant hemangioendothelioma carcinoma uteri. The tumor was removed and a skin graft was performed at the buttock. Local recurrences appeared over the next 3 years. She died 6 years after the initial appearance because of hemothorax. Case 2: 58-year-old male had noted a firm reddish tumor at the frontal region, which subsequently increased in size. The tumor was removed surgically. Fifteen months after the initial appearance, he died due to lung metastasis. Histological examination evaluated cases 1 and 2 respectively as moderate to poorly differentiated and well differentiated malignant hemangioendothelioma.
