A 68-year-old man was hospitalized due to cerebellar ataxia in October 1992. He had asymptomatic skin eruptions on his trunk and lower legs, and was referred to our clinic in December 1992. Skin biopsy specimens showed an infiltration of malignant lymphoma cells. We injected IFN-γ (1 million I.U./day) in his muscle every day. Both the skin lesions and ataxia showed a dramatic improvement after 5 weeks. A histopathological examination showed a decrease in the number of infiltrated cells in the dermis. We diagnosed this case to be paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration and reviewed similar previously reported cases.
