We have experienced 50 cases of the artificial femoral head replacement (Weber-Huggler type) to the fracture of the femoral neck. Average age was 73 years old.
3 cases out of 50 cases began to notice pain on the operated hip one year after operation. It was confirmed that the pain was caused by the wear of the artificial femoral head made with high-density polyethylen by the revision operation. The total hip replacements were performed for the second surgery.
Since then, we have been using the new type of artificial femoral head, and the surgery was performed to 16 cases of the fracture of the femoral neck.
