スポーツにより発症した Anterior Tibial Compartment Syndrome

抄録

A thirty-two year old man, first noted pain in his left leg while pitching a soft-ball game on July 30, 1978. Because pain increased, he was admitted to our hospital on August 4. The physical findings were similar to those of acute anterior tibial compartment syndrome, that is, swelling, local heat, tenderness, muscle weakness and sensory disturbance of the lower leg, and pulselessness of the dorsal pedis artery were observed.
Fasciotomy was performed eight days after onset. The muscles of the anterior and peroneal compartment were noted to be pale pink and bulging. There was no recovery of function of the paralyzed anterior compartment muscles.
