Revision was necessary in two cases out of fifty-four Total Hip Replacement in our clinic.
The first case was 46-year-old man with bilateral secondary osteoarthritis after congenital dislocation of the hip. The loosening of the femoral prosthesis was observed 28 months after surgery, probably due to malselection of the femoral prosthesis.
The second case was 64-year-old woman, affected deep infection with fever and pain of the thigh 24 months after operation. The cause of infection was unknown, whether direct infection at surgery or hematogenous infection after surgery. The use of long stem prostesis resulted in success by both cases.
