Pathogenetic study of the lumbar radiculopathy has been reviewed by means of the clinical and radiological study plain X-ray, myelogram and CT Scan-in 49 cases including 17 surgically treated cases. It may be concluded that lumbar radiculopathy occurs mainly as the result of disc protrusion, however, in a few cases without disc protrusion, it occurs at the lateral recess as the results of disc degeneration with narrowing, segmental instability, development of overgrowth of lamina, bulging of lig. flavum, subluxation of the facet joint, osteophyte overgrowth and combination of these. CT Scan is an important means of ensuring to analysis of patients condition.
