The aim of our study is to demonstrate the result of the functional conditions of shoulder joint and lower extremities in high shool students.
In our study, we examined 380 high school students (270 males and 110 females). We asked the age, history of sports and injuries of shoulder joint and other regions. In upper extremities, we checked the muscle atrophy of shoulder girdle, the loosening of shoulder joint and anterior, posterior apprehension test. And we evaluated the range and the pain of active motion and muscle strength of shoulder joint. In trunk, we checked back and adbominal muscle strength by modified Kraus-Weber test. In lower extremities, we examined tenderness, patello-femoral angle and the contracture of three muscles-quadriceps, hamstring, and iliopsoas.
We observed the atrophy and tenderness of trapezius muscle more frequently in the students with much exercise than in ones with little. Most students with tenderness of inguinal or foot region have weakness of back and abdominal muscles.
