Thorough curettage with methyl-metacrylate cementation is presented in a series of 5 cases with a follow-up time between 7 and 55 months. The advantages of this method are full and early mobility and stability. It is suggested that the heat generation could be an advantage of the method.
Two of the tumors were situated in the distal femur, two in the proximal tibia and one in the distal radius.
Of our five cases, favourable results have been obtained in four cases, but local recurrence and lung metastasis have been found in one case in the distal radius, which is malignant giant cell tumor.
