We studied the relation between calcium ingestion and the amount of bone-salt observing the content of calcium in drinking water. The amount of bone-salt was examined comparatively by multiple scanning x-ray photodensitometry in old people living in Tsukumi City where areas showing a high calcium content in drinking water and areas showing a low content exist mixedly. In addition, the relation with the quantity of motion, obesity and criteria for osteoporosis at the regressive period were also studied.
As a result, significant differences were observed with obesty, quantity of motion and criteria for osteoporosis at the regressive period like the results of other investigators. But there was no significant difference in bone-salt regarding the content of calcium in drinking water.
