There are several methods of internal fixation for displaced proximal humeral fracture, and hookplate fixation seems to be a useful treatment for this fracture.
We have treated 13 cases (7 males, 6 females) by hookplate fixation for displaced proximal humeral fracture. The follow-up period averaged 2 years and 3 months.
Good results were noted for elderly cases who had severe osteoporosis. There was no case of necrosis of the humeral head and psuedoarthrosis.
