Seventeen patients with severe coxarthrosis were treated by THR (cemented Harris type) with a mean follow-up period of five years and eleven months. The JOA score of 35.4 points to improved from a preoperative mean a postoperative mean of 77.4.
Radiographic evaluation of the THR resulted in a mean score of 1.41 points. The average angle of inclination of the acetabular component was 29.4°, with a CE angle of 61.8°, indicating that the acetabular componednt was positioned as planned. By using clear indications, and accurate operative technique we achieved satisfactory results in all our patients treated with THR.
