Radiological shape of the pelvic cavity reflects pelvic inclination. We investigated changes in the pelvic inclination of THRs (81 cases, 72 females and 9 males) in both the standing and decubitus positions.
Ages ranged from 31 to 81 years (average; 65.4 years). Roentgenographic findings were measured using Doiguchi's approximate equation.
In almost all cases the inclination was to the posterior with older aged patients even more prone to posterior inclination.
It is important to evaluate roentgenographic findings not only in the decubitus position but also in the standing position.
