A case of nodular fasciitis of the right knee joint is reported. The patient was a 24-year old woman. Histological examination revealed the joint to be partly covered by densely fibrous fascial tissue, which was continuous with the underlying tissue which consisted of myofibroblasts arranged in a swirling pattern. Accurate diagnosis is important to avoid unnecessary and often mutilating surgery. A case of nodular fasciitis is described, together with a review of the literature.
