We investigated 42 patients with femoral trochanteric fractures treated surgically. 22 patients had stable fractures and 20 unstable fractures. The preoperative general condition of the latter group was slightly poorer than the former group.
We concluded that tracking and improving the preoperative general condition is more important in patients with unstable trochanteric fractures.
