As the result of polarographic investigation of four isomers of benzene hexachloride, it has been. found that gamma-isomer gives the polarographic wave, but alpha, beta, or delta-isomer gives no wave. And using 40% ethylalcohol as the solvent and N/20 ammonium chloride as the supporting electrolyte, the wave-height of gamma-isomer is proportional to concentration and indifferent to other isomers in the solution. So by the polarographic method we can deter-mine the content of gammer-isoma in the mixture of isomers of benzene hexachloride most simply and exactly.
