Arylamine-N-(N'-acetyl) glucosaminide was further studied on the p-toluidine homologue upon its preparation and structure. It was found that usual methods for preparing N-glycoside are applicable also for the N-(N'-acetyl )glucosaminide. p-Toluidirie-N-(N'-acetyl) glucosaminide gave yellow color on the MORGAN-ELSON's color reaction and the red-purple color for N-acetylglucosamine was obtained on employment of more severe experimental conditions. Acetylation in pyridine and acetic anhydride gave a pentaacetate indicating that the acetylated product has an open-chain structure. The condensation of salicylidene glucosamine with p-toluidine was failed because of ready splitting of salicylaldehyde by contact with the amine.
