Abstract

On determinating whether the protein undergoes random manner turnover or chronological degradation, it is discussed by the mathematical models of the two compartmental systems that the excretion patterns of the radioactivity of the specific substances derived exclusively from the specific proteins, if which is available, is helpful to exclude the possible hazard of misinterpretation.
Potential usefulness of the excretion pattern of radioactivity of 3-methylhistidine in urine after the administration of ¹⁴CH₃-methionine on determinating the type of turnover of myosin and actin in skeletal muscle is proposed.
