Abstract
1. Keeping Oryzies latipes in the environment of high and low temperatures, the cytological observation was conducted respectively.
2. At low temperature within a short duration, mito c hondria become shorter and increase in their number, but chondriolysis does not occur. Golgi apparatus becomes granular and rests in contact with nucleus. " Special Granules " decrease to some extent. Fat globules show an obvious decrease.
3. At high te m perature within a short duration, vacuoles appear clearly in cytoplasm and mitochondria show a decline: i. e., chondriolysis and granulation occur. Golgi apparatus falls off in its volume and assumes simpler forms. A marked increase of fat globules is seen.
4. At low temperature of a long duration no obvious chan g e can be demonstrated. The author acknowledges the criticism of Prof. T. Taniguchi M. D.
