The number of megakaryocytes that engulfed blood corpuscles or their fragments in rabbit bone marrow was considerably increased by the lymphocyte transfusion and by the injection of depolymerized desoxyribonucleic acid as well, but this phenomenon is subject to a wide individual variation which is predominantly due to variation in the number of engulfed polymorphonuclear leucocytes.
