Abstract
The anatomy of the posterior adrenal artery was studied in 9 pigs. The posterior adrenal arteries branched from the aorta or from the dorsal abdominal artery. The right posterior adrenal artery was supplied from the aorta in 8 animals and from the dorsal abdominal artery in one. The left posterior adrenal artery was supplied from the aorta in 5 animals and from the dorsal abdominal artery in 4. Supply from the renal artery, which is common in other mammals, was not observed in the pigs.
