In order to confirm the stand point of Portmann's operation, i. e. the epidural shunt which leads the pressure of the endolymphatic sac to the mastoid cavity of one atomospheric pressure, a new microtransducer of a transistor was applied to measure the intra-sac pressure during the operation of Meniere's patients.
The values obtained from 10 patients ranged from 13 mmH2O to 34 mmH2O, averaging 19 mmH2O. Concerning the technical problem and the meaning of this value, a bibliotical discussion was done briefly.
