Optical circuit devices

Abstract

The explosive demand for Internet services is promoting the rapid development of high‐speed and broadband optical networks based on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) systems. Such networks require various optical components including microoptics‐, fiber‐, planar‐ and MEMS‐type elements. In this paper, I describe the recent progress in such optical circuit devices.
