Abstract

It is necessary to control molecular orientation for organic-device application. Much research on orientation techniques has been carried out. In this paper, we review the friction transfer method, that is, the fabrication of oriented polymer films on a substrate by dragging the polymer block across the substrate. As examples of organic devices with friction-transferred films, the polarized-light-emitting device and the polarized-light-sensitive photoelectric converter are mentioned.
