Abstract

The future prospects of medical electronics and their contribution to cutting-edge medicine are reviewed. The academic roadmaps formulated by the Japan Society of Applied Physics propose that a number of fundamental technologies related to applied physics are applicable to the development of highly advanced medical instruments for diagnosis and treatment.
