Cost reduction of agro-information sensing

Abstract

Due to climate change and changes in the social structure, the agricultural business needs to change. Information technology is considered as one of the promising technologies to enhance agriculture. By collecting sensor information about the field and crops over a wireless network, it is possible to improve the efficiency of cultivation and convert tacit knowledge of experienced farmers into formalized knowledge. In this article, several topics on the fabrication of low-cost devices are introduced.
