Recent advances and future prospects in energy harvesting technologies

Abstract

Energy harvesting technology is attracting attention as an “Enabling technology” that expands the use and opportunities of IoT utilization, enriches lives, and enhances social resilience. This technology harvests energy that dissipates around us, in the form of electromagnetic waves, heat, vibration, etc., and converts it into easy-to-use electrical energy. This paper describes the features of these technologies, recent topics, and difficult challenges, and boldly predicts the future prospect for development.
