Energy-savings and a comfortable living space supported by IoT

Abstract

The use of IoT is rapidly expanding across various living spaces, and we can visualize a home environment with, for example, the energy usage status and temperature and humidity of the house, remote control of home devices using a smartphone from outside, and automatic control of home devices such as air conditioners and shutters linked with sensor information. In this paper, we will explain the role and issues that IoT plays in energy savings and comfort of a living space, focusing on the functions and utilization technologies of the home gateway “AiSEG2”.
