This report describes effects of D. C. and A. C. fields on the viscosity of an electroviscous fluid consisting of di-butyl sebacate or di-phenyl chloride with suspended particles of silicagel, cellulose and mica.
The effects of particle species, frequencies of field, concentration, moisture and heat-treat-ment of particles are presented. A microscopic observation on the electrophoresis under D. C. and A. C. fields is also given.
