Aggregates of densely packed single crystalline needles are obtained when the iodine concentration deviates from the stoi-chiometric composition of SbSI even when prepared by the normal Bridgman method. Extra x-ray diffraction patterns such as Sb and Sb2S3 are observed in the samples of low iodine concentrations. The temperature dependence of dielectric constants and sponta-neous polarizations were measured on these aggregates. Curie temperature is found to increase with decreasing iodine concentration.
