System Dynamics is a method and theory of simulation analysis for the analysis of social systems proposed by J. W. Forrester at MIT in the 1950s. The term “industrial dynamics” was originally used, but as the scope of its application expanded, it was given its current name. This paper describes the characteristics of system dynamics.
