In our study, an independent life support robot (ILSR) is under development for lower limb handicapped. In order to provide moving assistance, it’s necessary to identify user’s moving intention for ILSR. Therefore, a moving intention recognition method based on the activities of brain was proposed for providing moving assistance during the double hands tasks in the daily life of lower-limb handicapped.
In this report, functional-near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) was applied to measure the brain activities of primary motor cortex and frontal association area for subjects. The time-frequency feature extraction method and user’s moving intention recognition method were proposed. The effectiveness of proposed method was verified by experiments.
