Abstract
Rare-earth doped phosphors has been used for optical materials. The transitions within the 4fˆn configuration are amployed in luminescent device like fluorescent lamp or display. The transitions in Ce3+-doped materials are between 4f levels and 5d levels. Generally the emission is efficient and occurs in wide range of energy depending on the host lattice. In this study, Ce3+-doped silicates, Ca2Y2Si2O9, Ca3Y2Si3O12, Ca3Y2Si6O18, Ca2Y8Si6O26 were synthesized and their luminescence properties were measured.
