Abstract
We synthesized Y 2O3:Eu red phosphor using powders of metal -EDTA complexes as a starting matreial. Powders of metal -EDTA complexes were obtained from solution consisting of Y- and Eu-EDTA·NH4 using a spray dryer. The compositional analysis among obtained particles was performed using a particle analyzer. The metal composition was scattered for the powder of the metal -EDTA mixture, while it became narrow for the Y 2O3:Eu powder synthesized with the splay -dried EDTA mixture. The intensity of cathodoluminescence obtained from the Y 2O3:Eu powder increased with increasing the fired temperature. The maximum intensity was obtained from the sample with x=0.12 for Y 2-xO3:Eux.
