Abstract
Transparent yttria ceramics were fabricated by the low temperature synthesis of yttrium hydroxide. Transparency of a sintered body depended both on aging temperature and period. Aging the precursor at 10°C produced a well sinterrable yttria powder, but aging it at 15 resulted in relatively poor sinterability. Transparent In the low-temperature synthesis, the size of the Yttria particle after calcination can be arranged and a transparent sintering object can be manufactured at low temperature.
