Abstract
Mesoporous titania with large surface area was obtained by hydrophobic polystyrene templating. The wet gels prepared by hydrolysis of Ti-alkoxide in THF-solution were immersed in polystyrene solution, dried and calcined. The gel films were prepared from the sols obtained by hydrolysis of Ti-alkoxide in THF solution with addition of polystyrene. The pore size, specific surface area and pore volume of the gels and gel films increased by polymer templating. The pore size distribution and pore shape of the gels depend on the polymer concentration.
