Abstract
In order to prepare a bulky zeolite with a monolithic phase (zeolite A), zeolite precursors were synthesized from Al(OH)3, water glass and metakaolin. The precursor was heat-treated in a hermetic condition at temperatures between 60°C and 200°C. Al(OH)3 was activated by milling in a dry condition and an effect of mechanochemical phenomena on zeolite phase was examined. When non-milled Al(OH)3 was used, faujasite phase was synthesized. Activated Al(OH)3 was found to be very effective to synthesize monolithic zeolite A.
