Abstract
We have already reported that the dielectric and the mechanical strengths correlate closely in TiO2 ceramics. To understand the dielectric breakdown in detail, we observed the behavior of the precurrent when the voltage was terminated just before the dielectric breakdown, and the voltage was applied again. We found that the precurrent waveform of the first time is different from the others, and the dielectric strength tends to become weak as it repeats (Fig. 1). From these results, we think that the dielectric breakdown is a phenomenon that the history remains.
