Abstract
Imogolite is a nano-tube type aluminum silicate and has not only high surface area but also excellent adsorption ability. Therefore Imogolite is expected to use in many applications such as heat exchange adsorbents of the heat pump and speedy drying desiccant. To make absorbents more efficient, the water vapor adsorption speed of the materials has to be raised. Recently, non-crystalline Imogolite whose length is short is synthesized. In this study, we measured the water vapor adsorption speed of Imogolite and non-crystalline Imogolite by adiabatic calorimeter. The maximum adsorption speed of non-crystalline Imogolite is 0.076mmol/g/s. The maximum adsorption speed rises by slightly more than 10 percent than that of Imogolite.
