Abstract
BaTiO3 is well known for its excellent properties and applied to many fields such as multilayer ceramic capacitor. Well-dispersed slurry is required to prepare ceramic greensheets with good packing density and homogeneity. However, it is commonly difficult to disperse ceramic fine particles in aqueous solution. In this study, the effect of the addition of polyelectrolyte dispersants on dispersibility of aqueous BaTiO3 slurries was investigated for the establishment of aqueous processing of BaTiO3 ceramic sheets. The viscosity of slurries showed the minimum by adding 0.2mass% PAM under the controlled condition without leaching Ba(pH 9). Further the wettability of aqueus BaTiO-3 slurries to carrierfilm was improved by the addition of binder.
