Abstract
The effects of the heat treatment on the optical quality of phenyltriethoxysilane (PTES)-derived organic-inorganic hybrid spherical particles were investigated. PTES-derived spherical particles were prepared by the vibrating orifice method. When the particles were heat-treated on the slide glass plate, there were some survived ones which remain their spherical shape at 400°C depending on the condition of the sol preparation. The survived particles also showed high photo-stability against 514.5nm Ar+-ion laser with a power of 120mW/paticle. In this study, the origins of their high thermal and optical stability are discussed.
