Abstract
Au and Ag-nanoparticle dispersed CaF2 films (Au:CaF2 and Ag:CaF2) were prepared by laser ablation (pulsed laser deposition) using Au and Ag-powder mixed CaF2 sintered targets. After heat treatment in Ar, Au particles were spherical in shape with the mean diameter of 5 nm and uniformly dispersed into CaF2. The optical absorption spectra due to surface plasmon resonance of Au and Ag nanoparticle were observed at a wavelength around 538 and 408 nm respectively. With increasing the mean diameter of nanoparticle, absorption peak position is blue shifted and coefficient is increased.
