Abstract
In composite materials containing solid lubricant, the distribution as well as its characteristics are expected to affect the tribological properties. In this investigation, multilayered Si3N4 composites with h-BN as a solid lubricant containing Si3N4 interlayers were fabricated by alternate stacking of tape cast sheets, followed by hot-pressing. The tribological properties on the side plane of the composites were evaluated. The properties were difference by the directions of samples. It was considerer that these phenomena were caused by the orientations of Si3N4 grains.
