Abstract
Y3Fe5O12, LaCoO3 and NiFe2O4 were prepared from aqueous solutions of metal salts containing polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) in an attempt to examine if the PVP-assisted aqueous solution route is available for fabricating complex oxide coating films. The solutions contained Y(NO3)3H2O, Fe(NO3)3H20, La(NO3)3H2O, Co(NO3)2H2O and Ni (CH3COO)2H20 as the metal source, water as the solvent, PVP, and nothing else. Dip-coating was conducted on silica glass substrate, and the gel films were just placed in an electric furnace of 700°C or 1000°C. The films were crystallized in single-phase target compounds.
