Abstract

Au particles were prepared by the ultrasonic irradiation of a mixed solution of HAuCl4, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and ethylene glycol (EG). After the irradiation, the surface plasmon resonance absorption peak of Au particles at 520 nm was clearly observed in the absorption spectra of the solutions. The nanometer sized Au particles were stable more than 3000 h in the solution.
