Abstract
If an all solid-state micro-battery is realized, it will be utilized in various application fields related to micro-systems, such as micro-pump, micro-mechanics, and so on. Ink jet technique can be applied to a production of micro rechargeable batteries by using precursor solutions of battery active materials as ink for ink jet printers. In this study, a sol for Li4Ti5O12 active material was used as an ink for micro manipulation equipment to prepare micro-electrode. In order to obtain Li4Ti5O12 micro-electrode which shows good electrochemical properties, both heat treatment temperature and duration have to be optimized. Structure and electrochemical properties of the Li4Ti5O12 micro-electrode prepared under optimized conditions were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, and cyclic voltammetry.
