Synthesis of Sphene-pink Pigment by Firing Condition

Abstract

The aim of this research is to study the optimum firing condition for pink-red color development in high temperature glaze by Cr2O3-SnO2-CaO-SiO2 system pigments. The experiment in various firing condition based on Malayaite(CaSnSiO5), the main structure of the color using with CrCl3 as a chromophore, were carried out. Synthesized pigments were analyzed by XRD, FT-IR, Raman Spectroscopy and UV-Vis.
