It is known that pancreatic tuberculosis is a rare form of extrapulmonary disease. It is difficult preoperatively to diagnose because clinical, laboratory and radiologic findings are nonspecific. Computed Tomography and PET-CT indicate that these lesions mimic neoplasms of the pancreas. Recently, endoscopic ultrasonography guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) cytology has been shown to be a safe, reliable and cost-effective method. We report a case of pancreatic tuberculosis in a 69 year old man and review the relevant literature, focusing on the usefulness of EUS-FNA in the diagnosis of pancreatic tuberculosis.
